The nearest theme park is at Sea World at Main Beach. With just a short drive from Surfers Paradise, Sea World has a large range of attractions to explore; such as large aquarium exhibits, penguins, polar bears, dolphin shows and sharks. Sea World’s thrill rides will appeal to almost every age group, with helicopter rides, roller coasters and water rides & slides.
Located 20km north of Surfers Paradise, Warner Brothers Movie World and Wet’n’Wild are situated together next to each other. Another 12km north near Coomera, Dreamworld and White Water World are group together on the right.
All of the Gold Coast theme parks have a large range of attractions and rides to choose from. There’s so many to choose from and you’ll probably tire of all the action and shows on offer, so choose a theme park that has the attractions that interest you most.
If theme parks are not your cup of tea, why not visit the Australia Fair Shopping Centre, located just 5km north of Surfers Paradise. It is the largest shopping centre on the Gold Coast and has a great range of merchandise and over 300 stores, specialty shops and excellent cafes and restaurants. For some more shopping action, head slighty south to Pacific Fair and the Oasis Shopping Centres near Broadbeach and catch the monorail to Conrad Jupiter’s Casino for a bit of gambling action.
The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is also a must see destination while you are vacationing on the sunny Gold Coast. Don’t worry if you can’t make the morning lorikeet feeding session at 8am, there’s another lorikeet feeding session at 4pm. For a full, fun-filled day of fun and excitement, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is surely hard to beat.
The Gold Coast hinterland also has a number of tourist drives and walks through the nearby National Parks. See the grand ancient rainforests, splendid waterfalls and fantastic panoramic views.
